Chequerplate Stuff was founded by drummer and ex drum shop owner Steve Poensgen in 2008, after realizing the musical potential of Chequerplate when stumbling across some leftovers from his kitchen floor laid earlier!

Following a few intensive weeks in the shed, armed only with a hacksaw and drill, combined with his vast knowledge of the drum and percussion market, the first prototypes were emerging and sounding better than anticipated.

After a few meetings with The Music Shipping Company to fine-tune the designs, a deal was struck for Chequerplate Stuff to be distributed by them as part of the Natal Percussion range, and the Music Live Show at the NEC provided the ideal opportunity for the official launch!

All of the Chequerplate Stuff instruments are designed and manufactured in the UK, and every single part used to create the increasing range will be available as spares for added peace of mind.

Chequerplate Stuff is now finding favour with a variety of drummers and percussionists who want to add something new and exciting to their sound!
